Operation Iraqi Freedom & Operation Enduring Freedom
Iraq and Afghanistan — the battalion answers the nation's call.
The 1-487th FA deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, performing security and convoy escort operations in one of the most demanding operational environments in the modern Army. The battalion subsequently deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, further demonstrating its versatility and readiness.
Iraq — OIF
Two deployments to Iraq performing security operations and convoy escort — protecting supply lines and personnel in active combat zones throughout the theater.
Afghanistan — OEF
Subsequent deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, adding another chapter to the battalion's record of expeditionary service.
